Girl Scouts 110th Anniversary Gets Boost From Jersey Shore Chapter
On June 17, Girls Scouts past and present and supporters can donate and share their experiences, says the Jersey Shore Chapter in Howell.

HOWELL, N.J.— The Girl Scouts organization is marking its 110th anniversary, and Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore has a Giving Day planned to celebrate.
The chapter hopes to raise $110,000 in 24 hours on Giving Day June 17 to support its work. And it will celebrate the day at the Jersey Shore BlueClaws for a special 110th birthday party and Girl Scout Family Night, the chapter says.
"We are asking supporters to make a gift to Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore on Giving Day and invest in the next generation of changemakers who are making the world a better place for us all, said Carla Scarabino, vice president of external affairs for Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore.

For 110 years, Girl Scouts have found a way to create a better future for themselves, their communities, and the world, organizers say.
In 1912, Juliette Gordon Low founded the Girl Scout Movement with 18 girls who wanted to make the world a better place and believed they could do anything they put their minds to. That small gathering ignited a movement that continues to this day—one where every girl can unlock her full potential, find lifelong friends, and make the world a better place, the organization said.
