Howell Police Investigate Caller After Gun Report Proves False
The legally owned firearms were in a locked case in the vehicle that was reported in the incident, police said.
HOWELL, NJ — A caller who reported a person waving a gun out a window on Saturday is under investigation in Howell after police determined the caller's report was false, Howell Township police said.
The incident started in the Point O Woods development, when the caller told police someone was waving a gun out the window of a vehicle on Bergerville Road, police said.
The minivan was pulled over near the Howell Township library, and police investigating the report found the firearms were legally owned and properly secured in locked cases. They were stored in a rear cargo area of the minivan.
