Howell Students, Staff Get A Snow Day

The township school district and the high school district closed as snow was expected to continue into Monday.

HOWELL, NJ — Heavy snowfall and anticipated dangerous travel conditions have prompted a snow day for the Howell Township School District and the Freehold Regional High School District.

The closures were announced Sunday afternoon for Monday's classes.

"Due to inclement weather, Howell Township Public Schools will be closed on Monday, January 26th. All after-school activities and outside community events hosted by external organizations are canceled," the district said

"The Police Athletic League Before Care and After Care Programs will also be closed. Please stay safe," Howell schools officials said.

"Due to the inclement weather, all Freehold Regional High School District schools and offices will be closed on Monday, January 26, 2026," that district said.

Howell Township Schools have two snow days built into the school calendar. The Freehold Regional High School District has three snow days built into its calendar.

Also closed are the Monmouth County Vocational-Technical Schools, the vo-tech district announced.
