Lidl Announces Grand Opening Of Howell Store

HOWELL, NJ — Mark Feb. 26 on your calendar: Lidl is hoding its grand opening of the store on Route 9, the company announced Thursday.

The store will hold a ribbon-cutting event beginning at 7:40 a.m. at 4250 Route 9, the announcement said.

Lidl purchased the 30,000-square-foot Best Buy store in May from Paramount Realty. That followed an initial flurry of publicity after the Lidl logo appeared on a map of the property on the Paramount website in January.

The grand opening will kick off a weekend of special offers, giveaways, and prizes for shoppers at the store, its eighth location in New Jersey. The store will be open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Sunday.

The grand opening offers and giveaways include:

• The first 100 customers will be presented with a special gift card ranging from $5 to $100 each.
• Shoppers can get free samples of an array of Lidl’s products and a complimentary Lidl reusable bag while supplies last.
• Games, activities, prizes, special deals and giveaways throughout grand opening weekend.

"Lidl is bringing high quality groceries at low prices to Howell this month and we’ll work hard to be the number one shopping destination in the area," said Robert Nowicki, manager of the Howell store. “The team and I look forward to serving the Howell community.”

The German chain, which has 90 stores on the East Coast and 11,000 worldwide, touts its offerings as the highest quality fresh produce, meat, and bakery items, and offers "a wide array of household products at the lowest possible prices."
