Man Sought In Theft Of 'Good Luck' Money From Howell Market

The man broke into the Twin Pond Farms Country Market just before Christmas, police said.

HOWELL, NJ -- Howell Township police are seeking the public’s help in finding a man who broke into a farm market store and stole the “good luck” cash hanging on the store’s wall.

The burglary occurred just before Christmas, on Dec. 21, when the man, clad in blue jeans and a blue hooded jacket, broke the front glass door of the Twin Pond Farm Country Market on Route 9, Howell Police Chief Andrew Kudrick said.

The man then stole $26 in ”good luck” money hanging on a wall near the cash register. The money had phrases such as “good luck” and “start to finish” hand written on it, he said.

The man was then seen fleeing toward a wooded area that leads to streets such as Overlook Terrace, Midland Boulevard, and Stuart Street, Kudrick said.

“Unfortunately, this is just another example the level people will sink to. How desperate are you that you resort to stealing the ’good luck’ money that was on display?” Kudrick wrote on the department’s Facebook page. “If you ever frequented this business, you will know the DiGregorios are a great family with strong roots in Howell. They absolutely work hard to make their business succeed.”
