Mega Millions Ticket Worth $5,000 Sold In Monmouth County
Did you buy tickets for Tuesday's drawing? Take a look. There were three $5,000-winning tickets sold in New Jersey for the drawing.

HOWELL, NJ — Someone is holding a Mega Millions ticket worth $5,000 that they purchased in Howell recently, according to New Jersey Lottery officials.
The ticket for the Jan. 3 drawing matched four of the five numbers plus the gold Mega Ball, Carole Hedinger, New Jersey Lottery executive director, said Wednesday.
It was one of three tickets in New Jersey that won the third-tier $5,000 prize, Hedinger said.

The winning numbers for the Tuesday, Jan. 3 drawing were: 14, 16, 23, 49 and 53. The Gold Mega Ball was 12, and the Megaplier Multiplier was 02.
The three $5,000 tickets were sold at the following locations:

- Monmouth County: Mart, 2510 Highway 9 South, Howell
- Ocean County: Wawa 948, 1180 Route 70, Whiting
- Essex County: B & B Liquors, 7 Northfield Ave., West Orange
In addition, 25 other players matched four of the five white balls drawn making each ticket worth $500. One of those tickets was purchased with the Megaplier option, multiplying the prize to $1,000, lottery officials said.
“Congratulations to the lottery winners and to the retailers that sold the winning tickets,” Hedinger said. “For selling the winning tickets, the retailers have become many more Lottery ‘lucky locations’ overnight.”
