Motorcyclist Who Hit Howell Patrol Car Had Suspended License: PD
Police said the Jackson Township man is facing multiple charges and had to be treated at the hospital after the crash.

HOWELL, NJ — A Jackson man is facing multiple charges after police said he crashed a motorcycle into a patrol car while trying to flee from a motor vehicle stop, Howell police said.
Joseph Sica, 35, of Jackson, was driving on a suspended license when he was arrested Monday following the incident on Route 9, police said.
Howell Police Lt. Joe Markulic and Patrolman T.J. Hurley saw a motorcyclist driving recklessly on Route 9 near Aldrich Road West and tried to pull him over. The motorcyclist, later identified as Sica, yielded briefly then took off south on Route 9 at high speed.

As he approached Lanes Mill Road, he had to slow for traffic and tried to exit onto the Lanes Mills Road jughandle, but instead hit the side of Hurley's patrol car, police said. He then tried to run but was quickly apprehended and arrested.
Sica was charged criminally with eluding and criminal mischief, and received multiple motor vehicle summonses as well, police said. After processing, he was taken to the hospital for minor injuries sustained as a result of the crash.
