HOWELL, NJ — The Howell Township Council has scheduled another workshop meeting to get public input on proposed overnight parking permits.

The meeting, set for 7 p.m. on April 21, is the second one scheduled on the ordinance introduced in January that would establish a residential parking permit program for overnight, on-street parking.

Two previous sessions, scheduled March 3 and March 31, were canceled.

The ordinance would ban overnight parking on residential streets from 1 a.m. to 5 a.m. without a permit. Residents who want to park vehicles on the street would have to apply for permits for those vehicles. The number of permits allowed would be based on the number of bedrooms in the home, and they could only be used by vehicles connected to the specific address.

The meeting is scheduled for the main meeting room on the second floor of the municipal building at 4567 Route 9 north.
