Southard Fire Dept. Kicks Off Season With Christmas Tree Sale
The fire department will be selling Douglas Fir trees for under $100 this season. Here's how to get yours:
HOWELL, NJ - The Southard Fire Department No. 1 in Howell Township is bringing the holiday spirit into the homes of local families this season with its annual Christmas tree sale, with proceeds benefiting the firehouse. For less than $100, a spirited Douglas Fir tree could be yours.
The stand will be open weekdays from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
In light of social distancing guidelines, customers will be mandated to pick their own trees this year. Assistance from a member will be provided “only in cases where absolutely needed.”

Tree trimming services will still be available at the station. Fire department members will mount trees on top cars or inside trucks if needed. However, as a precaution, members will not be allowed to enter the vehicles of others to secure trees.
