Jackson police, Howell police and the Ocean County prosecutor's office investigated and a search was conducted at Efendiev's home, where multiple electronic devices and storage devices were seized.
Efendiev has been charged with third-degree endangering the welfare of a child for possessing items depicting the sexual exploitation or abuse of a child.
Laskiewicz said it appears the images were taken from the internet. "There is no indication (Efendiev) personally engaged with any victims," but the investigation is continuing, he said.
