"What in the World is Pope Francis Doing?"
Sacred Heart Church (Bay Head) hosts two-part talk with Georgian Court University theology scholars.
What is it about Pope Francis that has so many people talking? Georgian Court University faculty members Joseph Gower, Ph.D., and Sister Mary-Paula Cancienne, Ph.D., will lead two discussions that examine the issues and engage others in sharing their views. Both events will be held at Sacred Heart Church, Rt. 35, in Bay Head.
“There is big interest in the teaching of Pope Francis in his second encyclical, Laudato Si,” said Dr. Gower. “We will examine that encyclical and place it in the long tradition of Catholic Social Teaching. Overall, the lectures will show the depth and relevance of the Pope’s teaching.”
