Wildfire Shuts Down I-195 In Central Jersey, Authorities Say
All lanes of the highway are closed, authorities said.
JACKSON, NJ — Interstate 195 is shut down in both directions Monday afternoon as firefighters battle a wildfire in Jackson, authorities said.
The wildfire is in the area of milemarker 25 in Jackson, the New Jersey Forest Fire Service reported.
Authorities initially closed the westbound lanes of 195 about 2:30 p.m. but at 3:10 p.m. said the entire highway is closed to traffic.

There was no immediate information available on the size of the wildfire. The highway is closed from about milemarker 20 to 28, according to the state Department of Transportation's 511nj.org traffic website.
"Avoid the area. Please follow directions from emergency personnel," the forest fire service said.
