105-year-Old Cozy Lake Bridge in Jefferson Open Again

The bridge was shut for repairs for six months.

JEFFERSON, NJ— A 105-year-old bridge in Jefferson has reopened, following extensive repairs.

Cozy Lake Bridge, which crosses over the Pequannock River, was in desperate need of repairs when the township closed it in April. Its closure forced a 3 mile detour, and headaches for locals.

“We are glad to get this bridge done and opened for the holiday season,’’ said Freeholder John Cesaro, the county governing board's liaison to road and bridge projects. “We know the closure was an inconvenience to motorists but we now have a new and safe bridge in place that should last for decades.”
