2 County Road Projects Set to Begin Monday

More than $1M worth of repaving set for Washington Twp., Jefferson Twp.

Two more county road projects are set to begin Monday, August 10, with another just a week behind it, as Morris County continues its aggressive resurfacing work throughout the region in 2015.

A 2.2-mile stretch of West Mill Road in Washington Township from Beacon Hill Road to Schooley’s Mountain Road will be milled and paved over the course of two weeks, weather pending, and will come at a cost of $537,372.

At the same time, a 1.8-mile stretch from Route 15 to the bridge at Taylor Road on Berkshire Valley Road in Jefferson Township will also be repaved. The cost of that project comes in at $550,319.

Just a week later, a 0.6-mile stretch of Mt. Pleasant Avenue in East Hanover will run from Route 10 through River Road, and will begin on Aug. 17. The project, with a cost of $254,062, is expected to be complete before the start of the school year.

Portions of Blackwell Street in Dover and Canfield Avenue in Randolph are currently under construction.

So far this summer portions of county roads in Chatham Borough, Boonton Township, Harding, Jefferson, Parsippany, and Randolph have all been resurfaced.
