Major avenues in four towns to get an overhaul.

Pursuing an “ambitious” 32-mile county road resurfacing program for the year of 2015, the Morris County Freeholders have awarded contracts for the resurfacing of three more roads.

Those contracts will cover the milling and resurfacing of Parsippany Boulevard in Parsippany; Old Denville Road in Boonton and Denville; and Berkshire Valley Road and Green Pond Road in the Township of Jefferson.

Those projects are expected to begin sometime during the summer.

“Our goal is to move quickly to resurface the county roads that need it the most,” said Morris County Freeholder David Scapicchio in a statement. “It is early in the season to have five projects awarded, and one already underway. I am proud of the investment we will make in county infrastructure this year.”
