Army Veteran, Former Construction Official Dies at 75

John Kosior lived in Lake Hopatcong for more than 50 years.

A resident of Lake Hopatcong for more than 50 years, John Kosior passed away suddenly in his home on Aug. 1, according to his obituary from Berminghan Funeral Home in Wharton.

Kosior is a United States Army veteran who served from 1955 to 1961, and was born in Newark, grew up in Irvington and Kenilworth and settled down in Lake Hopatcong in 1961.

The father of four and grandfather of four, as well as great-grandfather of seven, owned his own plumbing and heating company for 25 years, the obituary said, and worked as a construction official for Vernon Township before retiring in 2001.

Kosior is survived by is wife Heidi (nee Cornelius) Kosior.
