Motherhood Is a Gift

There are so many gifts I have received in my life, such as, the ones that I have opened and immediately known I would never use and would definitely regift; and then there are the gifts I have received and it was exactly what I had asked for; and finally there are those unexpected gifts that really give a thrill. These are the gifts that can be wrapped, however there are gifts that do not require decorative paper and bows, and these are the ones that make life so special. This Mother's Day, mothers will receive many gift cards, jewelry, and flowers but no gift is better than the ones that those little hands create from love. And it is safe to say there is no better gift than the one received the day each of our children were born. 

Motherhood comes with many rewards but no reward is sweeter than the day we find out we are blessed with the honor of being called mommy. Each mom has a story to share of how these special people entered their lives. Whether it is a feeling the first kick, getting final approval for the adoption to take place, or raising your step-children with your soulmate, no matter how they come to us that feeling of being a mom starts then. Each story is exciting and meaningful, but no story carries more weight than another because each is so special.

There is no better feeling in the world then to know you can love something in this world more than anything else and they will love you back so unconditionally. Motherhood is a that gift and the love we have for our children is a gift from God.  On this Mother's Day take a step back and enjoy the moments you cannot capture on a camera or video, like the sweet embraces early in the morning or the cute sayings that make you think twice and the smiles they give you because your are their mother. Then remember that feeling you had when you first found out that you were going to be a mom and hold that in your heart because that is the best gift you will receive this Mother's Day.
