Saint Clare's Gears Up For Annual Walk For Breast Cancer Awareness

The Saint Clare’s Foundation will gear up for the 2012 Walk for Breast Cancer Awareness with a Team Captain Kick-off Reception. The event, which will support breast cancer diagnosis and treatment at Saint Clare’s Health System, will be held on June 19 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. and hosted by Walk Presenting Sponsor TD Bank at their Denville branch.  Last year, more than 50 participants attended and pre-registered their teams to participate in the Walk.

“We are thankful to all those who have so generously supported Saint Clare’s in our efforts to put breast cancer on the run, directly benefiting the health of women in our area,” said Walk for Breast Cancer Awareness co-chair Karen Bott-Kelly. “We encourage the community to begin participating now through sponsorship opportunities or by forming a team and collecting donations.”

In 2011, there were more than 2.5 million breast cancer survivors in the United States. Saint Clare’s Foundation seeks to help increase this number through its annual Walk. Over the past ten years, the Walk has succeeded in raising more than $900,000 gross in support of Cancer Care at Saint Clare’s programs and services at Saint Clare's Health System. The 2012 Saint Clare’s Annual Walk for Breast Cancer Awareness will take place on September 23, 2012 at the Hilton Garden Inn in Rockaway, NJ sponsored by ADD Systems, TD Bank and WMTR/WDHA.
