Saint Clare's Kick-Off Event for Walk for Breast Cancer Awareness a Success

The Saint Clare’s Foundation held their 2012 Walk for Breast Cancer Awareness Team Captain Kick-off Reception on June 19 at the Denville Branch of Walk Presenting Sponsor TD Bank.  The event featured presentations, food, and prizes, and a total of 17 teams pre-registered at the event.

“The community came out in full support of Saint Clare’s efforts to put breast cancer on the run, directly benefiting the health of women in our area,” said Walk for Breast Cancer Awareness co-chair Karen Bott-Kelly. “There are still great opportunities to participate through sponsorship opportunities or by forming a team and collecting donations before the Walk takes place on September 23.”

In 2011, there were more than 2.5 million breast cancer survivors in the United States.  Saint Clare’s Foundation seeks to help increase this number through its annual Walk. Over the past ten years, the Walk has succeeded in raising more than $900,000 gross in support of Cancer Care at Saint Clare’s programs and services at Saint Clare's Health System. The 2012 Saint Clare’s Annual Walk for Breast Cancer Awareness will take place on September 23, 2012 outside JCPenney at the Rockaway Townsquare Mall in Rockaway, NJ sponsored by ADD Systems, TD Bank and WMTR/WDHA.
