What Is Your Passion?

Find your passion and learn something new about yourself.

February is a celebration month that takes each of us into many different directions, whether we are celebrating black history month, Valentine's Day, leap year, Presidents' Day, or American Heart month..we do it with purpose and passion.  From buying the perfect little Valentine cards for your children to bring to school to swap with their little Valentines; or to getting involved in a new fitness regime to lower your chance for heart disease; or attending a great performance that celebrates and enlightens us about the achievements of African-Americans. No matter what we are celebrating, this month is also a chance to make changes in your life by learning something new, finding your passion and purpose-you even have an extra day this month to do get started.

What is your passion or purpose and how can you find it?  My passion and purpose is my family.  I found mine when my husband and I began our journey to start a family together.  Our desire to have a famiy never stopped us despite all the struggles and roadblocks that infertility had to offer us.  However, after many years, treatments, and prayer vigils our prayers were answered-we were pregnant with our first child!  So, whenever I have an opportunity to talk about my children and how they got here I do not pass up the chance.  My boys are my little Valentines.

Recently, at our monthly Woman's Club meeting I had a great conversation with a friend and found out that I shared this very same passion with her; in addition, she and her husband were on a similar path to have their family. That day I realized how similar our journeys were and how much I get out of our meetings every month.  It was amazing that I found someone who could understand what I went through and how the experience has shaped me as a mother.

The Woman's Club is more than just an organization that does community service programs, it has been a way to align myself with strong, confident women who are not afraid to be themselves.  Here is where I met someone who shares in a similar journey and knows the range of emotions that come with it.  This is why attending a Woman's Club meeting can change your perspective and help you to find your passion.

Please join us on Wednesday, Feb. 8 for a Chocolate Tasting, Vera Bradley and Coach bag raffles at 7:30 at the Senior Center on Schoolhouse Road.
