Child Sex Assault Charges for Retired Teacher, Morris Restaurant Owner
Alleged crimes occurred in Netcong more than 20 years ago, report says.

More than 20 years after an alleged sex assault on a minor occurred in Netcong, a former Mt. Olive school teacher and current Morris County business owner has been charged with sexual assault on a 14-year-old.
According to dailyrecord.com, charged were filed against Maria Patamia, 57, of Netcong, on May 21. The alleged crimes occurred between June 1993 and March 1994, and the victim’s gender was not released, the report said.
Patamia, also the owner of Fanucci’s Café in Netcong, posted $75,000 bail and is not permitted to have contact with anyone under the age of 16, the report said.

According to the Mt. Olive Board of Education’s meeting minutes, Patamia retired from the district as a Middle School Health and Physical Education teacher after 32 years, effective July 1, 2012.
