To help celebrate National Clown Week, which takes place the first week of August, Rockaway Townsquare will present “Bring in the Clowns” on Tuesday August 5.
Children of all ages are invited to participate in a variety of fun-filled activities featuring several of New Jersey’s finest clowns, including face painting, balloon sculptures, clown autographs and an interactive clown show. Each child will receive a complimentary autograph book and all Simon Kidgits Club members will receive a special carnival themed gift. The event will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the mall’s upper level, Center Court.
The participating clowns are all members of Clowns of America International local Merri-Makers Alley 51, which consists of both professional and amateur clowns and magicians. National Clown Week was established by Congress and signed into law by President Richard M. Nixon in 1971. It has since grown to International Clown Week and is celebrated all over the world.
