Cop Accused of Showing Genitals to Drivers Forced to Resign Under Plea Deal

Jason Miller may never seek employment in law enforcement again; faces up to 60 days in jail upon August sentencing, report says.

Under a plea deal that impacts his occupation, Newton police officer Jason Miller, accused of showing his genitals to motorists he stopped for traffic violations, is forced to resign his position.

Miller pleaded guilty Monday in Sussex County Superior Court to turning off the video and audio pieces of his squad car’s dashboard camera apparatus, nj.com reported. In doing so, Miller knowingly “concealed unprofessional and inappropriate conduct,” the report said.

Miller was accused of showing his genitals to young male drivers during traffic stops during a seven-month period in 2014.

The officer, who is currently suspended without pay, will now resign and may never seek employment as a law enforcement officer in the future, the report said. He also faces up to 60 days in jail and possible probation of up to five years. His sentencing is scheduled for Aug. 7.

Miller was charged in November with two counts of official misconduct, lewdness, and a pattern of official misconduct.
