A black man driving a white minivan allegedly tried luring a boy into his vehicle Wednesday afternoon in Jefferson Township, police said.

Around 3:24 p.m. police responded to Woodlawn Terrace in Jefferson Township, Capt. Eric Wilsusen said. The boy, 10, told police a “light-skinned, heavy set black male wearing a white t-shirt” was driving a white minivan and approached the child, Wilsusen said.

At that point, the man allegedly asked the boy if he wanted to see his kittens, Wilsusen said. The boy didn’t respond, and the vehicle left the area.

A search of the surrounding area ended with negative results and the incident is under investigation.
