Jefferson Rec schedules trip to Madagascar Live! in NYC

 The Jefferson Township Recreation Department is planning a bus trip to Radio City Musical Hall in New York City for a 2 pm performance on Friday, April 22 (Jefferson Township schools as well as many others in the area are closed for Good Friday) to see Madagascar Live on the hall’s magnificant stage.

Based on  the blockbuster DreamWorks film, the show follows Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Melman the Giraffe, and Gloria the Hippo from their home at New York’s Central Park Zoo on an unexpected adventure to Africa. The show is brought vividly to life by imaginative sets and costumes and is filled with action-packed adventure, original songs that will have you dancing in the aisles, and, of course, everyone’s favorite hilarious plotting penguins!  It’s a brand new stage spectacular the entire family will love!

The tickets are $74 per person and include reserved orchestra seating in Section 500, Rows A to G, transportation by deluxe motor coach, and driver gratuity.  The bus leaves the Jefferson Township Municipal Building parking lot at 1033 Weldon Road at 10 AM sharp and then departs from New York City promptly at 3:45 PM for the return trip home.  Since the performance is at 2 pm, attendees will have some time to do a little sightseeing, shopping, and have some lunch.

In-person payments and telephone credit card reservations will be immediately confirmed at the Jefferson Township Recreation Department office located at 81 Weldon Road at Camp Jefferson in Lake Hopatcong during regular business hours of 9 AM to 4:30 PM Monday through Thursday and Fridays from 8 AM to 3:30 PM or by calling 973-663-8404.  

Reservations made by mail with a personal check or money order are subject to availability, and tickets will not be sent through the mail.  All checks should be made payable to the Township of Jefferson, and there are no refunds unless your ticket can be resold.  MasterCard and Discover credit cards will be accepted by phone or in person, but a 2.45% surcharge will be added on to cover bank processing fees.

A responsible adult must accompany all children under the age of 18.
