Evolution Rocks in the Rain at Camp Jefferson

The concert was shortened due to weather, but the band played on.

The rains came to Camp Jefferson about half an hour before Evolution, a tribute to the band Journey, was supposed to hit the stage. According to Art Bonito, head of the event's sponsor, the Jefferson Highlights Summer Concert series, it was far too late at that point to move the concert to an indoor venue. So they waited.

And they waited and waited, until about 9:15 p.m., when the rain let up enough for the band to go on. However, the dry break didn't last for long, with the rain starting again in earnest about 10 minutes later.

The band trudged on for about an hour, then determined that they had to call it quits because the rain was coming down too hard. Even with tents covering part of the stage, the performers and instruments were getting too wet, they said.

Bonito said that the concert committee was working on getting Evolution to return for a date in the fall, so that concert goers could see the full show.
