Ex-Giant Saves Morris County Man From Burning Home
Cole Farrand saved a man from a burning building, the owner said.
ROCKAWAY TWP, NJ— An ex-Giants football player rescued a man from the roof of his Rockaway Township home after the home went up in flames, the building's owner said in a Facebook post.
Cole Farrand, who played for the New York Giants in the 2015 season, heard his mother screaming there was a fire early Monday morning, the Daily Record reported.
The fire on Dawson Drive in the Green Pond Village section of town had engulfed the home by 1:30 a.m. A woman living in the home had jumped from a second story window, but a man was stuck on the roof. Farrand brought the man down to safety by using a nearby ladder, the New York Post reported.

The buildings owner, Jill Lapham Rotta, posted her gratitude in a Jan. 9 Facebook post, thanking the Green Post Valley Fire Department, First Aid Squad, Rockaway Fire Department, and other rescue agencies.
"Most important thank you Cole Farrand for rescuing our tenants from the roof and getting them to safety!" Lapham Rotta wrote in her post, saying the building is destroyed. She continued, "...we are lucky enough to have the privilege of rebuilding brick and mortar ...we cannot replace people!"
