Investigation Continues in Single-Car Crash That Killed Randolph Teens
No new information on whether charges will be brought against driver in fatal July 26 accident.

More than two weeks after a single-car crash on Ironia Road in Randolph Township killed two teen boys, answers about what happened that Saturday afternoon still remain unanswered.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing, and no new information was released by the Morris County Prosecutorβs Office as of Tuesday morning. Patch asked investigating authorities if any additional factors, such as distracted driving or drug use were involved, but were denied information due to the ongoing work.
The crash that occurred around 1:35 p.m. on Saturday, July 26, claimed the lives of Jack Timmerman and Calvin Verduga, two rising Randolph High School seniors who were in the back of a vehicle. The front seat was occupied by two other juveniles: one driver and one passenger, who remain unnamed.

Authorities told family members the vehicle was speeding before it veered off the road, striking a tree and killing Timmerman and Verduga, who had come from the gym and were working out prior to being picked up by friends.
Whether charges will be lodged against the driver is still unknown.

A fundraising page at youcaring.com was established for Verdugaβs family, which, as of Tuesday morning had brought in $24,988. The original goal set for the page was $5,000.
