Jefferson Deemed 'Car-Dependent' Community

Though results may not seem shocking, we want to know what you think.

Jefferson may not have a traditional downtown area where people use their legs as primary mode of transportation, but it seems as if at least one website has decided the township is a "car dependent" community.

WalkScore.com, a website that helps its users identify some of the most walker-friendly communities in the country, finds Jefferson to be more geared toward motorists. The website scored the township at six out of 100 for walkability.

"This location is car-dependent as a few amenities are within walking distance," the website said.
