Jefferson Hosting Free Opioid Awareness Talk By Addiction Recovery Author
Matthew Bocchi, author of the memoir 'Sway,' speaks at JTHS Auditorium at 7 p.m. on grief, addiction, trauma and recovery.
JEFFERSON, NJ — Jefferson Township will host author and speaker Matthew Bocchi for a free public presentation on opioid awareness, addiction and recovery on May 20 at 7 p.m. at Jefferson Township High School Auditorium.
Bocchi is the author of Sway, a best-selling memoir described as the first story told by a child of a 9/11 victim. In it, he chronicles his struggles with addiction, depression and PTSD following the loss of his father on Sept. 11, 2001, and his path toward recovery.
His story has been featured in documentaries and television programs including Fox News Digital Originals and History's "9/11: The Legacy." Bocchi has more than 10 years of sobriety.

The presentation is free and open to the public. The program was supported by NJ Opioid Settlement Funds. Parents of 11th and 12th graders will be entered into a prom bid raffle; parents of 9th and 10th graders will be entered into a gift card raffle.
