Jefferson Man Charged In Crash That Killed Two: Police

Alicia Montello and her mother, Darlene Gindhart, both died in last week's crash, police said.

JEFFERSON, NJ — A Jefferson man was issued a motor vehicle summons for his involvement in a crash that killed a mother and daughter last week, Jefferson police said in a statement.

Scott Breitz, 21, of Jefferson, was traveling west on Berkshire Valley Road near Solar and Taylor roads when he struck the car driven by Alicia Montello, 25, head-on, Jefferson Detective Joe Kratzel said.

Breitz was issued a motor vehicle summons for failure to observe traffic lanes, an unsafe lane change violation, Kratzel said.

Montello and her mother, Darlene Gindhart, both of Stockholm, were pronounced dead at the scene of the April 19 crash. Breitz was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation, and no further information will be released at this time, Kratzel said. Any witnesses to this incident should contact traffic safety officer Roger Davis at 973-697-1300
