Jefferson Marks Memorial Day With Parade, Wreath Ceremony. Plus What's Closed
The May 25 parade runs from Lake Hopatcong to Brady Bridge at 11 a.m.; recycling and trash pickups slide one day through the holiday week.
JEFFERSON, NJ — Jefferson Township will hold its Memorial Day parade Monday, May 25, beginning at 11 a.m. Spectators are welcome to view along the route.
The parade steps off from Star of the Sea Church, 204 Espanong Road, Lake Hopatcong, and proceeds along East Shore Road to Cherry Road, ending at Brady Bridge. A wreath tossing ceremony and salute to honor fallen veterans will close the event.
Municipal offices will be closed Monday, May 25, in observance of Memorial Day. Blue Diamond recycling and trash collection is also canceled for the holiday.

Residents affected by the schedule shift should note: Monday, May 25 pickups move to Tuesday, May 26; Tuesday, May 26 pickups move to Wednesday, May 27. The Wednesday, May 27 Bulk Metal/Vegetative Waste pickup is canceled and will resume Wednesday, June 3.
