The
Jefferson Township Museum, also known as the George Chamberlain House, will
have an open house on Sunday, August 3,
2014, from 1 to 4 pm when costumed docents will be at the museum. Admission is free. This month’s exhibit will continue the theme “Little House in the Valley” with an
emphasis on the parallels between the two families of Laura Ingalls Wilder and
the Chamberlains. Also featured will be
an exhibit of vintage tools. The
Museum, located at 315 Dover-Milton Road, was entered into the National and
State Registers of Historic Places in 2009.
Be sure to visit Miss Elizabeth’s
Shoppe located in the original kitchen of the Museum, which will be stocked
with Laura Ingalls Wilder’s books and other books of local history, gifts from
that period in addition to handmade and handcrafted seasonal items, and local
potter John Hedges’ pots. For
