Jefferson Vegetative Waste Pickup Running Behind. Routes Done By Thursday

JEFFERSON, NJ — Vegetative waste collection routes in Jefferson Township will be fully completed by Thursday, after a large amount of curbside material slowed pickup, the township said.

The delay reflects a busy spring cleanup season, with crews working through heavier-than-usual volumes of yard waste set out across the township.

Officials also issued a reminder about how the seasonal program works: the unlimited vegetative waste pickup period, which began April 1, ran for only the first six weeks of the season. With that window now closed, residents are limited to two bags at the curb per collection.

The two-bag limit will remain in place for the rest of the season, so residents with larger cleanup projects may want to spread material across multiple collection cycles rather than putting everything out at once.

Residents whose vegetative waste has not yet been collected are asked to leave it at the curb — crews will reach all remaining streets by Thursday.
