Lady Falcons Swoop Into Tourney's Second Round

Jefferson softball dismisses West Milford in opening round of playoffs.

Melissa Jurkiewicz provided seven innings of one-run ball with just enough support to help push the number six seed Jefferson Falcons softball team through to the second round of the NJSIAA playoffs Tuesday afternoon.

The Falcons beat number 11 seed West Milford 3-1, according to nj.com, in the North 1, Group 3 opening round, and will face Demarest on Thursday afternoon.

West Milford could muster just five hits and an earned run against the Falcons, who, in turn, posted seven hits and got runs batted in from Anna Carslon and Caitlyn Dougherty, nj.com reported.
