Morris County Man Charged With Murder After Allegedly Stabbing Victim to Death

Dover man arrested after altercation outside nightclub, prosecutor says.

A Dover man has been arrested and charged with murder and weapons-related crimes after allegedly stabbing his victim outside a Dover nightclub, Morris County Prosecutor Fredric Knapp said.

Daneri Javier-Medini, 21, allegedly stabbed Jacinto Flores Zapata, 39, also of Dover, outside the Xclusiv Lounge on East Blackwell Street in the early morning hours of Tuesday, Nov. 24, Knapp said.

Police found Zapata suffering from multiple stab wounds and was pronounced dead a short time later, Knapp said. An investigation by the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and Dover Police Department led to the arrest of Javier-Medina.

Javier-Medina was charged with murder, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. He was lodged in Morris County Correctional Facility on $500,000 bail in the form of cash, bond, or property.
