Morris County Man Distributed Child Porn, Prosecutor Says

Rockaway man, 63, charged on two counts.

A Rockaway man was arrested Monday by the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office for allegedly having and distributing child pornography, Prosecutor Fedric Knapp announced.

Gary Firuta, 63, was charged with endangering the welfare of a child – distribution of child pornography, and endangering the welfare of a child – possession of child pornography.

The alleged acts took place in 2011, Knapp said, and were brought to the attention of local law enforcement by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Details surrounding the acts and how Firuta’s name was brought to light have not been released by the prosecutor’s office.
