Morris Sheriff's Office Undergoing Staffing Analysis

Company conducting analysis to see where efficiencies can be gained, report says.

A two-month long staffing analysis for the Morris County Sheriff’s Office began this week after the department head sued the county for the hiring of nine new officers.

According to dailyrecord.com, Pennsylvania-based Concorde Group, Inc. met Monday with Sheriff Edward Rochford and a dozen of his officers to explain what procedures will be taken over the next 60 days.

Rochford sued the county last month for the implementation of nine new officers after a court judge mandated the department’s presence in civil courtrooms. The Morris County Freeholders said the hiring of nine new officers would cost the taxpayers about $1 million annually for salary and benefits.Β
