Ayanna Thorne Gass was approved Monday as the new assistant principal at Jefferson Township High School.
Thorne Gass, who currently works in the Paterson school district, is slated to start her new position in March.
Speaking on behalf of the policy and personnel committee, board member Stacey Poulas said 10 candidates were interviewed by a committee made up of staff, administrators, students and parents.
