North Jersey Man Held Knife to Woman's Neck After Hitting Her, Cops Say

Man jailed on $7,500 bail in Warren County.

A Hackettstown man was arrested Tuesday night after police say he hit a woman in the face and then held a knife to her neck.

Police responded to a residence on Ashley Avenue for a report of a dispute in progress, Sgt. Darren Tynan said. Upon arrival officers found Anthony Tomaselli, 31, had been involved in a dispute with a woman, Tynan said.

An investigation revealed Tomaselli allegedly hit the woman on the side of the face, then grabbed a knife and placed it in the “area of the victim’s neck,” Tynan said.

Tomaselli was arrested and charged with possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, aggravated assault, and simple assault.

He was lodged in Warren County Correctional Facility in lieu of $7,500 bail with no 10-percent option.
