Police Searching For Home Invader In Jefferson

He fled when he saw the homeowner on the couch, police said.

JEFFERSON, NJ — Police are searching for a home invader that fled after finding the homeowner on the couch, Jefferson police said.

The man entered a Berkshire Valley Road in the Oak Ridge section of town around 11 a.m. on Tuesday. Police say he entered through an unlocked back door.

Once inside, the invader spotted a the homeowner laying on the couch, and fled out the backdoor. Police say he left in a silver or gray Volkswagen sedan towards Route 15. The man is described as a 5'10" Asian man wearing a black hat and a hoodie.

Police checked the area but didn't find him; no other similar incidents have been reported.
