Road Milling To Impact Several Jefferson Roads Next Week

JEFFERSON, NJ — Drivers in several parts of Jefferson could run into road work next week as the township begins the first phase of a five-day milling schedule.

Road milling is tentatively scheduled from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday weather and field conditions permitting, according to a township notice.

Work begins Monday on Homestead Road from Espanong to Castle Rock and the Sycamore, Elm and Willow Loop.

Tuesday's schedule includes Castle Rock from Homestead to Lake Road, Dublin Hill from Castle Rock to the end and Lookout Avenue from Dublin Hill to the end.

Crews are scheduled Wednesday for portions of Lake Road, Bee Zee Lane and Castle Rock. Thursday's work covers portions of Spring Road, McNabb, Benedict Drive and Lagoon Lane.

The schedule wraps up Friday with North Cherry from Brady Road to East Shore and East Shore from North Cherry to Tennis Road.

For residents, the schedule offers advance notice of where delays are expected so they can plan alternate routes and move vehicles before work begins.

"Expect delays, and please use alternative routes," the township said.

Residents are also being asked to remove vehicles and other items from affected roads. Police officers and public works employees will be on site to assist residents, according to the township.

Garbage and recycling should be placed outside by 6 a.m.
