Sheriff's K9 Units to Check Ballot Bags on Primary Election Night
Clerk fearful new screening devices at administration building could scramble voting cartridges, report says.

Rather than taking the chance of two technologies not agreeing with each other, Morris County Clerk Ann Grossi has taken a different route on security measures for Primary Election night on June 2.
Due to fears that metal detectors may scramble the ballot tally cartridges inside bags from the 395 voting districts in the county, Grossi asked and was approved to have Morris County Sheriff’s K9 Units check the containers for explosive devices as they enter the County Administration building on June 2, dailyrecord.com reported.
The measure comes after additional security enhancements came in April, which now has officers at the building screening “virtually everyone and everything” that enters the building, the report said.
