'Wall of Service' Dedicated to Former Morris County Freeholders

Three plaques with more than 260 names now on display in Morristown.

Serving as a Morris County Freeholder is an important job, one that includes hard decisions that impact hundreds of thousands of residents.

Because of that, the sitting members of the board recently dedicated a Wall of Service to past members to honor their service.

The Wall of Service is now located outside the public meeting room on the 5th floor of the county’s administration and records building in Morristown. It consists of three plaques with the names of more than 260 freeholders dating back to the 1700’s.

“Serving the citizens of Morris County as a freeholder is an honor,” said Freeholder Director Tom Mastrangelo during a dedication ceremony. “With that in mind, my colleagues and I thought it would be a fitting gesture to pay tribute to the men and women who have served the citizens of this county from the time it was established to today.”

Former freeholders attended the ceremony, including Congressman Rodney Frelinghuysen, Carol Rufener, Frank Druetzler, Parsippany Township Attorney John Inglesino, Highlands Council Director Margaret Nordstrom, Gene Feyl, Jim Murray, Douglas Romaine and County Clerk Ann Grossi.
