WATCH: Cops Free Deer Trapped in Fence

On a Friday shift before a holiday weekend, New Jersey police are preparing for heavy traffic and early summer revelers.

But they also have other duties, and in Hopatcong Friday morning, that included freeing a deer with its leg caught in a fence. It was unknown how long the deer was stuck, but it ran away after the ordeal - see video below.

”It just shows police do other things then lock up bad guys,” said Hopatcong Lt. Thomas Kmetz.
