2 NJ Shooters – One At Mall – On Loose As Woman Escapes Bullet
Police in one NJ town are looking for 2 shooters, one connected to mall gunfire; another who nearly shot a woman in her house, cops say.

Police in one New Jersey town are looking for at least two shooters – one who was connected to mall gunfire; another who nearly shot a woman in her house.
A New Jersey woman said a stray bullet, fired outside, nearly hit her as she sat in her Jersey City home, according to news reports.
Iris Cueto, a Jersey City grandmother, was watching a game show inside her home on Rose Avenue when she heard gunfire outside, according to News12. She says the bullet pierced through the blue siding, through a wall, and passed just inches away from her.

The incident happened just as police identified Ahmad Broadway as the suspected shooter in the shooting at Newport Centre in Jersey City. Here is his photo:

“I’m still shaken, everything, you know, it’s sad you don’t even get to feel safe anymore at home,” Cueto told CBS2. Young teens were firing guns down the street from Cueto’s Rose Avenue home, according to the report, and police don’t believe she was the intended target.

Cueto dodged the bullet inside her home Monday when a TV game show attracted her attention, according to nj.com.
“I was watching ‘The Price is Right’ and I was about to go upstairs and I looked back to see if the lady was going to win,” Cueto, 61, nearly wounded after the shots were fired around 11:30 a.m., told nj.com. “I sat down again and the bullet came through the wall.”
Police, meanwhile, continue to look for Broadway after two people were critically wounded in the Jersey City mall shooting on Friday evening, officials said, prompting Gov. Phil Murphy to express shock at the incident that terrified families and shoppers.
"This evening, two people were shot at the Newport Centre Mall in Jersey City, terrifying families and shoppers enjoying their Friday night," Murphy said. "Grateful for the swift response by law enforcement and Mayor Steven Fulop."
Both victims have been discharged from the hospital, officials said. The investigation remains active and JCPD is working closely with the Hudson Prosecutor’s Office to bring this investigation to a quick resolution, officials said.
One of the victims, Jalil Holmes, has been placed under arrest and charged on an open warrant from an event that occurred on Jan. 9, 2019, officials said.
The incident happened at the Newport Centre mall food court in Jersey City and sent panicked shoppers fleeing, according to news reports and videos of the scene.

The shooting came two days after another violent incident that led to lockdowns at three nearby schools, including a pre-K, according to nj.com. The two shootings are related, the report said, with a victim of the mall shooting wanted for attempted murder in connection to Wednesday’s violence.
A press conference was held outside the mall’s McDonald’s, where shoppers were trapped inside stores and cops searched the mall for shooters, according to nj.com. The violence happened after a fistfight was reported at about 6 p.m. on the mall’s third floor, one that ended with gunfire.
One of the suspects, Holmes, is suspected of involvement in Wednesday’s lunchtime shooting on Grant Avenue that left two hurt and nearby schools locked down, according to CBS2.
