JERSEY CITY, NJ — Officials are investigating after a person was found dead on Tuesday near Ninth and Brunswick streets in Jersey City.
Officials confirmed the investigation on Wednesday morning, but declined to release more information.
The area is near the northwest corner of the historic Hamilton Park section of downtown.
More information will be released when it becomes available, prosecutors said.
The city's crime statistics page has been updated to reflect eight homicides this year, including this incident.
Second Death This Week
The incident is the second apparent homicide this week. On Monday night, a man was found fatally shot in an apartment in the McGinley Square section of the city. Read more about that here.
