Armed Man Who Robbed Jersey City Stores 4 Times In 4 Weeks Learns Fate

JERSEY CITY, NJ — A man who committed four armed robberies in Jersey City over four weeks learned his fate on Friday.

Naji Thomas, 33, of Jersey City was sentenced to 22 years
in New Jersey State Prison for his role in the robberies in 2022, said the Hudson County Prosecutor's office.

He was convicted at at the end of a trial in March of four counts of first-degree armed robbery, four counts of unlawful possession of a weapon, and four counts of possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, prosecutors said.

Prosecutors said that the robberies took place on Feb. 18, 2022, Feb. 25, March 3, 2022, and March 17.

Each time, Thomas entered a store armed with a gun and demanded money, prosecutors said.

He was also able to steal cell phones in three of the robberies, prosecutors said.

He was sentenced to two consecutive terms of 11 years in prison, subject to the no early release act, prosecutors said.

The state was represented by Hudson County Assistant Prosecutors Max Bosco and Priya Angara.
