HUDSON COUNTY, NJ — As much as an inch of rain may fall in Hudson County Thursday afternoon into Friday morning, the National Weather Service said.

A briefing from the NWS said that 1.44 inches of rain is expected for the Newark region — but unlike in regions further out, snow is not expected in the area. However, 36 MPH wind gusts are predicted for Hudson County on Thursday night.

The forecast for Hudson County is:

Thursday: Rain, mainly after 1 p.m. Steady temperature around 39. East wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Thursday Night: Rain. Temperature rising to around 45 by 4 a.m. Breezy, with an east wind 16
to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 36 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. New precipitation amounts between three quarters and one inch possible.

Friday: Rain. Temperature falling to around 42 by 3 p.m. Breezy, with a northeast wind
15 to 21 mph becoming northwest in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 37 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Friday Night: Rain likely, mainly before 7 p.m. Cloudy, then gradually becoming partly cloudy, with a low around 35. West wind around 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent.
