A 2-year-old girl whose body was found in a suitcase on train tracks earlier this year had cocaine in her system, according to an autopsy performed by the state Regional Medical Examiner's Office.

Te'Myah Layauna Plummer died because unspecified violence and cocaine intoxication, according to the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office.

Plummer, of Richmond, Va., allegedly took his daughter, Te'Myah, from her mother in August 2017, eight months before her body was found in New Jersey. Prosecutors say Plummer wrapped up her decomposing body and left it inside a suitcase in a friend's Jersey City home, starting in October, NJ.com reported.

Jersey City police went to the home in March searching for the girl, and say Plummer ran out the back of the home. They say Plummer went back to the house, grabbed the suitcase and left it near the Tonnelle Avenue Bridge, where it sat for a month before PATH workers found it.

Detectives working on the scene were reportedly "rattled" by the discovery, NBC reported, with even the most veteran investigators affected.

Richmond, Va. Police had been searching for Te'Myah and her father for months. A month before her body was found, investigators there said they did not believe the two were in danger.

Plummer faces charges for improper disposal of human remains. He has pleaded not guilty, and was denied bail.
